Goodnight Kiwi creator dies.
(Although, at this point, it would just be mean to point out that as kiwis are a nocturnal bird, Kiwi wouldn't be going to bed then but heading out for a nice meal of grubs...)

Ahh, you beat me to it! For that, I'll say very little, except add that him having a pet cat is just looking for trouble. And as for sleeping in a radar dish? Tut tut, etc.
I would think most radar dishes could support the weight of a kiwi... although that usual spike in the middle is probably uncomfortable...
According to Mythbusters it can't cook a chicken, so... I'm going with no.
I forever identify the goodnight Kiwi as the first thing I would hear before being hit by the crushing that I'd managed to fall asleep (yet again) and miss the end of the film I'd been looking forward to for years.
But I still loved him. And his cat (who is magically already in the dish without getting into that intriguingly TARDIS-shaped lift with the Kiwi).
Magic in every sense...
